Welcome from the MCIC President

Welcome to the Museums/Cultural Institutions Council of the International Facility Management Association! My name is David Samec, and I was elected president of the MCIC October 7, 2006, at our annual meeting, which was held during IFMA’s 2006 World Workplace Conference and Expo in San Diego. I served as the council’s vice president during the previous two years, learning as much as I could from departing MCIC President Larry Eubank of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, who increased membership by an outstanding 100 percent over the past three years. About MCIC

The Museum/Cultural Institutions council meets the highly specialized needs of its members by providing education and training specific to management of science centers, performing arts centers, libraries, historical sites, art institutes, theatres and zoos. It supports that mission by providing education and networking for facility professionals serving these institutions. Areas of interest include environmental systems, public spaces, technical resources, space management, hazardous waste and involvement with public and private patrons and organizations.
