Greetings from the MCIC President!

As I enter my 4th one-year term as President of the Museums/Cultural Institutions Council of the International Facility Management Association, I reflect back on what a professional and valuable council that we have.  But, we all have to use it for our own personal and professional needs to really get that value out of it.  Your participation and involvement may include MCIC activities at: annual World Workplaces (Atlanta, October 2010); annual Spring Meetings (Facility Fusion in Philadelphia, April 2010); live lunchtime Webinars (see emailings); recorded Webinars/briefings/papers (see links on our website); or, chatting on IFMA Community, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, or just plain old emails.  Spending just a few minutes with museum and other cultural institution colleagues every week on your own computer in the comfort of your own home or office will prove to be an incredibly valuable investment of your time.  With over 120 MCIC members worldwide representing some of the greatest cultural institutions that exist today, we have well over 2,500 years of experience for you to get valuable lessons learned and best practices in our business.  I encourage you all to get involved--and stay involved.  Its all about relationships…isn’t it?

Wishing you all a safe and professionally fulfilling 2010!
